Box Score

BLOOMSBURG, PA - Jillian Duld (Allentown/Parkland) scored her fourth goal of the season but the Crimson Hawks were unable to pull off the upset, falling to No. 1 Bloomsburg by a score of 5-1 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover action Saturday.

The game was scoreless until Amber Aulenbach broke through in the 27th minute to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead, but IUP would answer back, as Duld took a pass from Shannon Sullivan (Pittsburgh/North Allegheny) and found the back of the cage at the 30:44 mark. The huskies would retake the lead just 40 seconds later when Brittany Mathews scored at 31:24.

The score would remain at 2-1 until the second half, when Cassie DiSabintino scored at 44:46. Lindsay Danz would add two insurance goals late in the game to seal the victory for Bloomsburg.

Sarah Lemieux (Dublin, OH/Dublin Coffman) and Brittany Varacallo (New Britain/Central Bucks South) split time in goal for IUP and combined for eight saves. The Crimson Hawks begin a five-game homestand this Wednesday when they host Slippery Rock under the Miller Stadium lights at 7:00 p.m.
