Brianna Liebold picked up first place finishes in both the long jump and triple jump to set the tone for a solid showing by both IUP track teams at the Bucknell invitational Saturday.
Liebold solidified her top ten national ranking with a jump of 19-4 and her jump of 38-8 ¼ was also good for a first place finish. Laurie Ajavon finished second in the long jump with a 18-8 jump and third in the triple jump with a jump of 35-10.
Alyssa Taddie and Stephanie Beaudette finished second and third respectively in the 5000 meter run. Taddie posted a time of 18:22 and Beaudette finished in 18:44.
Elly Rono led the charge for the men's team with a first place finish in the 5000 meter run in a time of 15:11.
Leander Toney also scored a first place finish in the high jump with a jump of 6-10 ¾. The Crimson Hawks also got a strong showing from their 4x400 relay team of Jared Long, Nafee Harris, Anthony Flowers and Steve Wainwright. The quartet finished second in a time of 3:26.42 just .36 seconds behind the Shippensburg team.
The Crimson Hawks look to build on this success when they travel to Kent State Saturday.
