Alexa Lodovici Fills the Net as IUP Knocks Off Edinboro

Alexa Lodovici (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) scored four goals as the Crimson Hawks used a big first half to take down Edinboro 13-10 in PSAC lacrosse action Tuesday night in Edinboro.

The teams traded goals in the first nine minutes of the game before IUP scored four straight goals capped by a goal by Alex Edwards (Bethlehem/Nazareth) assisted by Becca Vogt (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) at 14:32.

The Crimson Hawks took a 6-3 lead into the half, but the Fighting Scots were able to battle back to tie the game at 8 with 21:22 to play after a Courtney Hey tally.

The Crimson Hawks put the game out of reach scoring five of the next six goals to build the lead to 13-9 with just 6:07 remaining in the game.

In addition to Lodovici three other Crimson Hawks scored multiple goals with Jessica Beck (Baltimore, MD/Western Tech) notching three goals and Stephanie Bianco (King of Prussia/Upper Merion) and Edwards recording a pair of goals apiece. Vogt found the back of the net once and dished out six assists. Beth Glasshagel (Coram, NY/Newfield) also scored for IUP.

Kaitlin Sterling (Cranberry Twp./Seneca Valley) got the win in net playing the first 36 minutes allowing six goals and making four saves. Katherine Davis finished the game making five saves and giving up four goals.

The Crimson Hawks step outside of conference play when they host Shepherd Thursday night at Miller Stadium at 7:00.
