NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — IUP senior defender Rachel Knight added another accolade to her decorated collegiate career Tuesday, earning second-team All-Region honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).
Knight was one of 32 student-athletes from the Atlantic Region selected to the 2026 All-Region teams after anchoring the Crimson Hawks defense throughout the spring season.
The honor caps one of the most accomplished defensive careers in recent IUP women's lacrosse history. Knight finished her career ranked second in program history in caused turnovers and became the first IUP defender since 2026 IUP Athletics Hall of Fame inductee Taylor Norwood to earn four All-PSAC selections.
Throughout the 2026 season, Knight established herself as one of the top defenders in the conference. She ranked fourth in the PSAC in caused turnovers per game, averaging 2.44 while forcing 44 turnovers across 18 contests. Her aggressive defensive style and ability to disrupt opposing offenses consistently helped create transition opportunities for the Crimson Hawks.
Knight's impact stretched beyond the stat sheet. As one of the veteran leaders on the roster, she played a key role in organizing an IUP defense that allowed just 205 goals during the season while helping the team finish with a positive scoring margin overall.
Her ability to guard top opposing attackers, force turnovers and provide leadership in critical moments made her one of the premier defensive players in the PSAC throughout her career.
The IWLCA All-Region teams recognize the top women's lacrosse student-athletes across Division II and are voted on by coaches within each region. Student-athletes selected to the all-region teams become eligible for All-America consideration later this postseason.
