Becca Vogt Scores in Overtime to Give IUP Dramatic Win Over Slippery Rock

Becca Vogt (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) scored with :19 left in the first overtime to lift the Crimson Hawks to an 11-10 victory over Slippery Rock at Miller Stadium Saturday night in PSAC lacrosse action.

Alexa Lodovici (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) scored with 5:10 remaining in the second half to give the Crimson Hawks (9-4, 4-3 PSAC), but Slippery Rock (8-5, 3-5) rallied and tied the game with just :08 on the clock on a goal by Casey Quinn.

The Crimson Hawks scored five times in the first half on five shots to take a 5-1 lead into the locker room.

Vogt lead the IUP offense with four goals and also added three assists. Colleen Berlin (Baltimore, MD/Institute of Notre Dame) scored three times for the Crimson Hawks. Lodovici added two assists to her goal.

Quinn paced the Rock offense with four goals and Lauren Laubach added three goals.

Kaitlin Sterling (Cranberry Twp./Seneca Valley) picked up the win in net for the Crimson Hawks making nine saves including one in overtime.

The Crimson Hawks continue conference play Friday when they host Kutztown at 4:00 at Miller Stadium.
