Results
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Following last week's impressive conference championship meet, the IUP men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Lock Haven Go Fast River Run on Saturday afternoon.
The women finished second out of four teams while the men finished third.
Three women placed in the top 10 for the Crimson Hawks, with
Katie Barrett (Carlisle/Cumberland Valley) finishing fifth with a time of 23:39.4;
Lauren Lyons (Indiana/Indiana) coming in sixth with a time of 23:40.2; and
Kayla Edwards (Etter/Redland) finishing seventh with a time of 23:49.8 on the 6K course.
Heather Ziegler (Conneaut Lake, Pa. /Meadville ) and
Antonette Acosta (Newark, NJ/Milton Hershey) finished just outside the top 10 in 11th and 12th with times of 24:16.2 and 24:34.8, respectively.
On the men's side,
Corey Mitchell (Bridgeville/South Fayette) and
Joey Franze (Wexford, Pa. /North Allegheny) were IUP's top two finishers, coming in 19th and 20th with times of 27:53.5 and 28:27.8.
Pete Iannuzzi (Delran, NJ/Delran) finished in 23rd with a time of 28:48.4 while
Trevor Howard (Shinglehouse/Oswayo Valley) came in 26th with a time of 29:16.3 and
Ken Thompson (Edinboro/General McLane) was 28th with a time of 29:33.0.
Both IUP teams are back in action next Saturday when they head back to Lock Haven to compete in the Atlantic Region Championships.
