IUP Track & Field Competes in Cincinnati and Virginia on Saturday

Early Bird Relays | Patriot Open

INDIANA, PA - The IUP men's and women's track & field teams competed in the Cincinnati Early Bird Relays and the George Mason Patriot Open on Saturday in the first action of the outdoor season.

In the Early Bird Relays, the Crimson Hawks notched top 10 times in several events, including the men's 1500 relay as Victor Costello finished seventh with a 4:00.32.

On the women's side, Alyssa Taddie finished fourth in the 3000 steeplechase with a 11:36.39 while Stephanie Beaudette finished seventh in the 5000 with an 18:27.87.

At George Mason, several Crimson Hawks notched victories in both track and field events as IUP seemed to dominate the event.

Among first place winners were Ross Moreau and Ayanna LeBlanc in the men's and women's shot put; Brandon Ford and Silken Shifner in the triple jump; and both men's and women's 4x100 relay teams.

The Crimson Hawks also had top three times in the women's 110 hurdles, 400 hurdles, 100, 400, and the men's 100, 200, and 800.

IUP is back in action next week at the Western Pennsylvania Championships held at California.
