BRONX, NY – Alyssa Taddie (Homer City/Homer-Center) finished ninthth for the women and Victor Costello (Moscow/North Pocono) claimed 49th place as the IUP cross country teams competed in the Iona College Meet of Champions. 

Competing in the Division I race, Taddie completed the 6K time of 23:08, finishing five seconds ahead of teammate Steph Beaudette (Johnston, RI/Saint Mary Academy Bay View) who came in 11th with a time of 23:13. Samantha Thompson (DuBois/DuBois) followed up with a time of 23:27 and an 15th place finish. 

The women came in third overall and had three runners finish in the top 20. Rachel Magliane (Danville, Pa. /Danville) finished in 28th place with a time of 23:48.

For the men, the team took 12th place overall, led by Victor Costello (Moscow/North Pocono) who finished with a 26:46 8K time and claimed 49th place. Teammate Matt Rutt (Sinking Spring/Wilson) finished 58th overall with a time of 27:06. 

Also finishing in the top 100 for the men was Josh Joson (Gaithersburg, MD/Quince Orchard) who took 70th place with a time of 27:42. 

The Hawks will next travel to Bethlehem, Pa. for the Paul Short Invitational on September 28.
