INDIANA, PA - Nicole Bruce (Clarks Summit/Lackawanna Trail) opened and closed the scoring for the fourth-ranked Crimson Hawks Tuesday in IUP field hockey team's 4-1 victory over Seton Hill in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action.

All five of the game's goals were scored in the first period, with Bruce getting things started from five yards out at the 12:20 minute mark. Five minutes later, Ashley Mosner (Newton, NJ/Newton) gave IUP a 2-0 lead on a pass from teammate Kate Bruce (Clarks Summit/Lackawanna Trail).

The Griffins would cut IUP's lead in half at the 25:29 minute mark after a goal from Lauren Schumacher. The Hawks woudl respond quickly, however, when Alicia Straining (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) scored a goal from the right wing off an assist from Anouk Sickman (Antwerp, Belgium/Lazac Cellepe).

Sickman would add another assist at the 34:16 mark as Nicole Bruce (Clarks Summit/Lackawanna Trail) notched her second and the final goal of the game.

For the Hawks, Sarah Lemieux (Dublin, OH/Dublin Coffman) was in goal for the first period, facing three shots and allowing Seton Hill's only goal. Brittany Varacallo (New Britain/Central Bucks South) replaced Lemieux in goal for the second period and faced only one shot.

With the victory, IUP improves to 8-2 and will return to action Friday when they take on C.W. Post at 2:00 p.m. at George P. Miller Stadium.
