Timko and McCormick Fall in PSAC Semifinal Matches

BLOOMSBURG, PA - After advancing through three rounds on Saturday, Tanya Timko (Cannonsburg, PA/Chartiers-Houston) fell in the semifinals of the 2013 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Individual Tennis Championships on Sunday. The pairing of Timko and Abby McCormick (Bethel Park, Pa. /Bethel Park) also lost in the semifinals on the doubles side.

Timko battled California's Lucie Sipkova, the top seed in the bracket, falling 6-0, 6-1. Timko entered the weekend as one of four seeded five-through-eight.

In the doubles bracket, Timko and McCormick fell to Ramona Czakon and Alexandra Borgenhoff, also from Cal, 9-8(3). Czakon and Borgenhoff were the bracket's second overall seed while Timko and McCormick were the fourth seed.

Timko, McCormick and the rest of the Crimson Hawks are back in action next weekend when they travel to Charleston, W.Va. for the 2013 ITA Atlantic Regional Championships.
