Five Men’s Qualifiers Highlight Kent State Tune-Up on Saturday

KENT, OH – The Crimson Hawks had five men's conference qualifier marks as they competed in the Kent State Tune-Up on Saturday at the Kent State Field House.

Four of the qualifiers came in distance events, with two each in the mile and 3000 meter run.

Victor Costello (Moscow/North Pocono) and Andrew Morgan (Ulysses, Pa. /Northern Potter) were the mile Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifiers with times of 4:17.25 and 4:21.10, respectively.

Nick Patton (Canton/Canton) finished the 3000 with a time of 8:43.72 while Matt Rutt (Sinking Spring/Wilson) ran an 8:54.30.

In field events, Michael Turner (Philadelphia/Carver) tossed the shot put 13.95 meters, also good for a PSAC qualifying mark.

This was the Crimson Hawks final meet before the 2014 PSAC Indoor Championships on March 1 & 2 in Lewisburg.
