NEW ORLEANS — IUP sophomore jumper Matthew Cusatis earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region honors Wednesday after a standout outdoor season in the triple jump.
Cusatis received the recognition after recording one of the top five marks in the Atlantic Region during the 2026 outdoor campaign, continuing his rise as one of the top jumpers in the PSAC.
The sophomore capped his outdoor season with an All-PSAC performance at the PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Shippensburg, where he finished runner-up in the triple jump. Cusatis posted a mark of 14.84 meters at the conference meet, the top outdoor jump of his season and one of the best marks in the region.
Throughout the year, Cusatis consistently placed among the top competitors in the event while helping lead IUP's jumping group in both indoor and outdoor competition.
His personal-record mark came earlier in the year during the indoor season at the Kent State Doug Raymond Invitational in February. At that meet, Cusatis reached 14.88 meters, the best jump of his collegiate career.
Cusatis was one of the top point scorers for the Crimson Hawks during championship season and established himself as a key contributor for IUP moving forward.
The USTFCCCA All-Region honor recognizes the top five individuals in each event from every NCAA Division II region. Student-athletes can also earn the distinction as part of a top-three relay team in their region.
