West Chester Ruins Record Performance, Senior Day for Women’s Lacrosse

INDIANA, PA – On a day in which IUP celebrated Senior Day and sophomore
(Malvern/Great Valley)
were stopped by the goalie Jess Henderson.
 
In addition to Hayden's five goals on the day, Brittney Palardy (Perry Hall, MD/Perry Hall) added five more in the loss. Hooven, Sarah Ward (Murrysville/Franklin Regional ) and Michelle Zakrzewski (Purcellville, VA/Loudoun Valley) each had a goal. Ward had three assists while Amy Weinberg (Clarksville, MD/Atholton) chipped in with two.
 
Defensively for the Crimson Hawks, Taylor Norwood (Chantilly, VA/Chantilly) caused three turnovers and had four ground balls and four draw controls. Weinberg also won a team-high six draws. Katie Davis (Owings Mills, MD/Mercy) and Chelsey Hipp (Clarksville, MD/Good Counsel) each saw time in the net for the Crimson Hawks, with Davis earning the start and saving nine shots.
 
Prior to the game, the Crimson Hawks celebrated their 11 seniors, a group that has helped IUP to its best four-year stretch in school history with 46 wins, a soon-to-be three PSAC tournament appearances, and 11 new team records.
 
The Crimson Hawks still have one final regular season game remaining when they host Bloomsburg (8-6, 6-4) on Wednesday. It could be a preview of the opening round of the following week's PSAC tournament, as IUP is currently the three seed and the Huskies are the sixth seed.
