Women's ResultsSHIPPENSBURG, Pa. –
Jada Wilson (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) finished first in the women's high jump while
Demetrius Timmons (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) was second in the men's long jump, highlighting IUP's nine conference qualifying marks at Shippensburg's Paul Kaiser Classic on Saturday afternoon.
Wilson won the high jump with a height of 1.63 meters and also hit a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying time of 1:00.11 in the 400 meters.
Also hitting a PSAC time in the 400 was
Christina Roberson (Pittsburgh, Pa. /Penn Hills), who crossed the line with a time of 59.68.
Kiah Walton (Burlington, N.J./Burlington) and
Brooke Smay (Mineral Point, Pa. /Forest Hills) both hit marks in the triple jump, landing with distances of 5.24 meters.
Catelyn Hittie (Berlin, Pa. /Berlin Brothersvalley) sprinted to a time of 15.76 in the 100 meter hurdles while
Riva Walker (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) was the women's lone distance runner with a conference qualifying time of 12:14.21 in 3000 meter steeplechase.
In addition, the women's 4x100 meter relay team finished third with a time of 48.35 seconds.
Timmons leapt to a distance of 6.59 meters in the long jump, just 0.29 meters shy of the winning mark.
Caleb Cordell (Erie, Pa. /McDowell) was the men's only other PSAC qualifier on Saturday with a time of 15:55.89 in the 5000 meters. The men's 4x100 meter relay team finished in seventh place with a time of 42.98.
The meet was the final competition prior to next week's 2015 PSAC Outdoor Championships at East Stroudsburg University. The championships will be held Thursday thru Saturday, April 30-May 2.
