THE GAME
The Crimson Hawks enter the 2016 PSAC tournament as the sixth seed and travel to West Chester to square off against the third seed Golden Rams. IUP enters the PSAC tournament on the heels of a 1-0 victory over Kutztown on Saturday. West Chester defeated Seton Hill 4-0 in their regular season finale Saturday. The winner of the IUP/West Chester game will play at second seed Shippensburg on Friday at 12 p.m. The Crimson Hawks enter the PSAC tournament for the first time since 2013 after going 10-7 and 5-5 in PSAC play during the regular season. West Chester was 12-6 overall and 8-2 in league play during the season.
STORYLINES
• IUP is in the PSAC tournament for the fourth time in the past six seasons and the first time since 2013 while making the program's 13th all-time appearance in PSAC postseason play
• IUP holds a 6-11 all-time record in PSAC tournament play in 12 appearances
• IUP and West Chester will meet for just the second time in the PSAC championships. The only previous meeting between the two teams came in the semifinals in 2012 where the Golden Rams earned a 2-1 victory.
THE NOTEBOOK
RUBBER MATCH POSTSEASON EDITION
IUP and West Chester split two regular season matches as the Golden Rams defeated the Crimson Hawks 1-0 in the season opener for IUP back on September 10. IUP then recorded a 3-2 double overtime victory over West Chester at Miller Stadium on October 1.
Liz Gagliano (Lancaster, Pa./Cocalico) scored the game-winner at the 86:48 mark.
"WEST" WARD BOUND
Sophomore
Selena West (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) led IUP in several offensive categories including goals (eight), points (18), shots (40) and shots on goal (25). She ranks among the top 10 in the PSAC in goals, points, and points per game.
COMING THROUGH IN THE CLUTCH
Sophomore
Matti Reightler (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) enters the PSAC tournament with three goals in her last two games. She led the team with four game-winning goals and ranked second on the team with 14 points while tying for second in the league with her four game-winning goals.
