INDIANA, Pa. – Seven IUP student-athletes were recognized for their accomplishments in the classroom and in competition, earning College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors as announced Tuesday.
Seniors Guillermo Salazar, Alexi Crosby, Rachel Knight and Devon Nee, along with juniors Celeste Pagliaroli, Sydney Schmouder and Mia Gerick, were among the recipients. To be eligible for the CSC At-Large Team, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50 through the spring 2026 semester and participate in at least 70 percent of their team's competitions. Institutions are limited to six nominees from each gender.
On the men's side, Salazar capped one of the most successful careers in IUP men's golf history. A three-time All-PSAC selection, Salazar finished runner-up at the PSAC Championships in the fall after a playoff that was ultimately halted by darkness. Over four seasons, he played 120 rounds for the Crimson Hawks and posted a career scoring average of 74.42.
The field hockey trio of Gerick, Pagliaroli and Schmouder helped guide IUP back to the PSAC Tournament during the 2025 season. The three combined to start all but one game for the Crimson Hawks, with Pagliaroli and Schmouder starting all 16 contests.
Women's lacrosse returned to the PSAC Tournament for the first time since 2023 and recorded its best conference finish since that season. Knight concluded her career as one of the most decorated defenders in program history, finishing among the top five in school history in both ground balls and caused turnovers. Crosby earned All-PSAC honors for the first time in her career, while Nee started all 18 games for the Crimson Hawks during the 2026 campaign.
The Academic All-District honor recognizes student-athletes for their combined excellence in athletics and academics and serves as the first step toward consideration for CSC Academic All-America honors.
