Smith finishes 13th in 200 free on day two of the NCAA Swimming Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – IUP junior Nicole Smith (Dover, PA/Dover) finished 13th overall in the women's 200 yard freestyle as she competed during the second day of the 2018 NCAA Division II Swimming Championships Thursday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
 
Smith earned honorable mention All-American honors by competing in the consolation final of the 200 free, touching the wall with a time of 1:50.08.

She posted her fastest time of the year in the Thursday prelims, finishing in 1:49.74 to finish 12th out of 49 swimmers in the first session.
 
Smith is still scheduled to compete in the 100 and 500 freestyle this week, while teammate Regan Chalk (Hanover, PA/New Oxford) will compete in the 200 butterfly.
 
The championships run from Wednesday thru Saturday in Greensboro.
