CLEVELAND –
Paige Mikesell and
Rachel Johnson each hit NCAA Division II B cut qualifying times while IUP swimmers combined for 30 conference qualifying marks as the Crimson Hawks wrapped up their three-day weekend at Cleveland State's 8th annual Magnus Cup Sunday.
Mikesell posted a time of 2:05.16 in the 200 butterfly, good for fourth place in the A final of the event. It was her third NCAA qualifying time of the weekend, also posting marks in the 100 fly and 200 IM.
Johnson secured her first NCAA B time of the year by swimming a time of 2:19.61 in the 200 breaststroke. That was good for second place overall in the event.
Six Crimson Hawks (three women, three men) had two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying times each. Those included
Olivia Santee in the 1650 freestyle and 200 backstroke;
Gabrielle Gironda in the 1650 freestyle and 200 butterfly; Sophie Manges in the 1650 freestyle and 200 butterfly;
Nathan Dill in the 1650 freestyle and 200 butterfly;
Luke Emmerling in the 1650 free and 200 breaststroke; and
Taylor Auger in the 200 backstroke and 200 butterfly.
