THE GAMES AT A GLANCE
IUP women's lacrosse (1-1, 0-0 PSAC) takes off for spring break and heads to the Carolinas for games at Wingate (2-2, 0-0 SAC) and No. 12 Limestone (4-1, 1-0 SAC) Sunday and Tuesday, respectively. The Crimson Hawks return to action for the first time in two weeks after splitting their 2019 opening weekend with Findlay (W 17-5) and No. 17 Grand Valley State (L 14-10).
NOTES
>> Senior
Ally Burrows broke the IUP career goals record during the win over Findlay February 23. She scored a game-high six goals while classmate
Katie Martyn added five.
>> Burrows scored seven goals in the opening weekend and now has 169 in 54 career games played.
>> The win over Findlay was the first at IUP for new head coach
Brenna Gallagher '16. She's in her first season at her alma mater after guiding Division III Misericordia to a 12-9 mark and conference runner-up finish in 2018.
>> Martyn totaled 19 draw controls during the opening weekend, helping the Crimson Hawks outdraw their opponents a combined 30-13. Martyn's 9.5 draw controls per game is currently second in the PSAC.
>> Sophomore Kathyn Zeiler was IUP's second best scorer over the weekend with six goals - three in each game - and added an assist for seven points.
