INDIANA, Pa. - IUP men's and women's swimming coach Chris Villa announced his program's summer swimming stroke camps for June 13, June 27 and July 11. These camps are designed for swimmers ages 10-18.

Camp details
Crimson Hawks Camp empowers campers with knowledge and skills of fundamental and advanced stroke technique for all four strokes. Participants of all levels will learn new skills as well as learn how to perfect old skills. Campers will take training and racing to the next level through a focus on more efficient stroke technique. Cost is $85 per camp.

Campers will receive a T-Shirt. Staff organized activities during free time. IUP will provide an energetic and educated staff.
9:30-9:45 - Registration
9:45-11:45 - Pool session I
11:45-12:30 - Lunch
12:30-1:30 - Dryland/Organized Play
1:30-3:30 - Pool session II
Session I includes: Freestyle Backstroke Turns
Session II includes: Breaststroke Butterfly Starts

Camp director, Chris Villa
Coach Villa has established himself as a leader in NCAA Division I, II, and III swimming. In addition to his current role as Head Coach of IUP, Coach Villa has had successful tenures at The United States Naval Academy and Juniata College. In the 2011-2012 season, IUP senior Jackie Hynson won her first NCAA title in the 200 butterfly in a time of 1:58.84. The IUP women garnered 8 All-American accolades and placed 15th in the nation under Coach Villa's direction. In 2010 & 2014, Chris was recognized as PSAC Coach of the Year. Throughout his eight years at IUP, the Crimson Hawks have rewritten the record board, setting 73 new marks.

At the United States Naval Academy, Chris helped lead the team to a third place finish in the 2006 Patriot League Championships. In 2006 the Midshipmen established 3 new school records and 2 new league records. Coach Villa also served as the meet director for the 2006 Sectional meet hosted at the Naval Academy. With over 1500 entries, the Sectional meet was one of the most competitive meets of the year.

With over 20 years of swimming experience, Coach Villa brings a wealth of knowledge and an abundance of enthusiasm.
