CLEVELAND, Ohio – The IUP men's and women's swimming teams concluded the second day of Cleveland State's Magnus Cup on Friday.
Overall, IUP had two school records with four NCAA B Cut standards throughout action on Friday. The Crimson Hawks once again showed improvement from the morning session into the evening, ending Friday with 49 total PSAC standards.
Athanasios Diamantidis set a school record and NCAA B standard in the 100 breast, finishing second in a tight race with a time of 54.80.
On the women's side,
Paige Mikesell set a pair of NCAA B Cuts with her finishes in the 100 fly and 200 free. Coming in the morning session of preliminaries, Mikesell won the 100 fly with her school record time of 53.61 before nabbing sixth in the 200 free (1:51.54).
Rachel Johnson won the 100 breast in prelims with her NCAA B Cut standard of 1:02.68. For the men,
Luke Mikesell posted seventh in the 200 free, touching the wall in 1:41.07.
Erin Moyer was third in her B-Final heat of the 100 breast with a 1:05.12.
Alexander Roth posted third in the 100 back B-Final for the Crimson Hawks with his time of 51.17.
The IUP 200 medley relay and 800 free relay teams also swam for IUP in the evening session.
Jordan Crupie, Johnson, Mikesell and
Amber Baldani raced to third for the women's squad in the 200 medley relay, finishing just ahead of Toledo for third overall with a 1:43.40.
