McGillan, Mikesell sweep PSAC Swimmer of the Week honors

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – IUP standouts Thomas McGillan and Paige Mikesell swept the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Swimmer of the Week awards, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

The duo set several pool records for the Crimson Hawks in last Saturday's conference dual meet against Clarion.

McGillan becomes the third IUP men's simmer to earn the weekly conference award so far this season. He anchored the 200 medley relay team which set a pool record of 1:34.96 at the Tiffin natatorium, adding a pair of individual victories. McGillan zipped to first in the 50 free (21.09) and following it up with a win in the 100 free (47.16).

Meanwhile, Mikesell also helped lead the 200 medley relay team to a pool record time of 1:48.09. Individually, she set a pair of pool records with wins in the 200 free (1:55.45) and the 100 fly (58.04).

The IUP women go into the holiday break with a perfect 6-0 mark in dual competition, while the men are 4-2 this season.
