GENEVA, N.Y. – IUP first year standout
Jess Davidson was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-America Second Team, the organization announced Friday afternoon.
Davidson becomes the first NFHCA All-American honoree for IUP since the 2012 season, earning her second national award this week. She is the 26th All-American in program history, capping a stellar debut season.
Davidson was previously named a Second Team All-American by Synapse Sports, in addition to a spot on the All-Rookie team.
The Nelson, New Zealand native logged 13 goals and three assists in an impressive debut season for the Crimson Hawks. She posted three game-winning markers and scored multiple goals in three contests. Her 27 points are the highest single-season total for IUP since 2012.
She was named an All-PSAC Second Team selection following the season in November.
