LEXINGTON, Va. - Nine Crimson Hawks competed with two hitting qualifying marks on the first day of the VMI Winter Classic Friday.
Cassidy Kline hit a season-best and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying time in the 400 meters with a time of 59.28 seconds. It was good for 12th overall in the event at a meet made up of mostly Division I competition. Kline also just missed a qualifying time in the 60 hurdles, checking in at 9.62 seconds.Â
Cahsia Page also hit a PSAC qualifying time in the 60 meters. She crossed the line in 7.91 seconds in the prelims to qualify for the semifinals where she finished in 7.89 and missed the finals cut on a tiebreaker.Â
Seven other Hawks were in Lexington on Friday, including
Noah Shannon-Hatchett in the 60 meters where he advanced to the semifinals after running a time of 7.13 seconds in the prelims.
Addison Singleton ran the 60 hurdles (9.07),
Trenton Jubin in the 60 meters (7.39),
Justin Egizio (51.76 and
Da'Shawn Gaither (52.56) in the 400 meters,
Rachel Horrell in the triple jump (DNS) and
Sarah Isenberg in the high jump (NH).Â
