YORK, Pa. - IUP swimmers combined for four second place finishes out of 10 events Thursday night as the second day of the 2022 PSAC Championships wrapped up at the Graham Aquatic Center. 

The IUP women had three second place finishes - two individual and one relay - adding a pair of third places and a fourth place finish. 

Rachel Johnson and Paige Mikesell looked to repeat conference titles in their respective events, but fell short with a pair of second place finishes. Johnson finished with a time of 4:30.08 in the 400 IM while Mikesell swam to a time of 54.60 in the 100 butterfly. 

AB McCullough finished right behind Mikesell in the 100 fly, posting a third place time of 56.29. Amber Baldani then posted a fourth place finish in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:54.30. 

The women capped their night with a second place finish in the 400 medley relay. Baldani, Claire Mikesell, Paige Mikesell and McCullough posted a time of 3:47.48. 

On the men's side, Luke Mikesell posted a consecutive second place finish in the 200 freestyle, finishing with a time of 1:38.69. Ryan Hartmann had another top finish for the men, finishing fifth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.39. 

Team standings
Both teams held onto their positioning from the first day of championships, as the women are second and the men are fifth.

The women have 668.5 points to trail West Chester's 761 points. The Hawks have a huge lead over third place Bloomsburg at 388 points while Clarion is fourth at 351.5 and Gannon is fifth at 346. 

The men have 169 points after two days and trail first place West Chester's 393 points.
