INDIANA, Pa. - The IUP women's lacrosse team opens its 2022 season at home on Friday when they host Ashland at Miller Stadium. Opening draw is set for 3 p.m.
Notes
>> This marks IUP's first ever meeting with Ashland, a program that started four seasons ago in the spring of 2019.
>> The Hawks finished 2021 with a 6-6 overall record, including a 6-4 league record to earn the program's eighth PSAC tournament berth since 2012.
>> IUP was picked to finish third in the PSAC West preseason coaches poll. Seton Hill is the division favorite and Mercyhurst was picked second.
>> Four All-PSAC selections are back from last year's team, including junior
Jordan Kulp and sophomores
Chantal Jimenez,
Sarah Reustle, and
Hannah Sharkey.
>> Kulp was among the best offensive players in the region, ranking among the national leaders in points (57) and assists per game (2.67).
>> Jimenez and Reustle are back after ranking 1-2 on the team in draw controls while combining for 42 points while Sharkey was the team's top returning defender.
>> Also back is senior
Chloe Borland, who missed all of 2021 with an injury. She was among the national leaders during the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign with 5.25 points per game.

Brenna Gallagher Roan '16 enters her fourth year as the head coach with an 18-15 record at her alma mater.
