Mikesell earns second All-American honor

GREENSBORO, N.C. - For the second straight night, IUP's Paige Mikesell grabbed All-American honors while competing at the 2022 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships Thursday.

Mikesell finished seventh overall in the women's 100 yard butterfly with a time of 54.28, earning first team honors with her top-8 time. She qualified for the championship final by finishing fifth in the morning prelims with a time of 53.87. 

It's Mikesell's second All-American honor of the week, earning honorable mention honors in the 200 IM on Wednesday.

Mikesell also competed in the 200 yard freestyle, the event she won a national title in last season. She finished 32nd in the prelims with a time of 1:52.52.

Rachel Johnson also competed Thursday, finishing 34th in the prelims of the 400 IM with a time of 4:29.45. 

Standings
On the strength of Mikesell's two All-American honors, IUP is 23rd of 32 scoring teams after two days in Greensboro with 15 points.
