SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Kendall Branan won the men's 400 meters while hitting a PSAC qualifying time as the IUP track & field programs competed at Susquehanna's Jim Taylor Invitational this weekend. It was the outdoor opener for the Crimson Hawks.
Branan ran a 400m time of 49.23 seconds, blowing by the competition by finishing more than two seconds better than the second place runner.
Branan was one of four Crimson Hawks to hit PSAC qualifying times this weekend. He was joined by
Evan Weaver in the men's 1500 meters,
Dan Gibney in the men's 3000 meter steeplechase, and
Jayden Thomas in the men's high jump.
Weaver finished second in the 1500m by posting a personal best time of 4:02.65. Gibney finished third in the 3000s with a time of 9:51.71 and Thomas finished fourth in the high jump with a leap of 1.90 meters.
On the women's side, IUP's top performance came from
Cahsia Page, who finished third in the 200 meters with a time of 26.03.
