LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – IUP women's soccer senior forward
Hannah Scardina was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Athlete of the Week, announced by the league on Monday afternoon.
Scardina continues to lead a young IUP lineup offensively, posting four points in a victory over Edinboro on October 28. Scardina assisted on the initial two IUP tallies against the Fighting Scots at South Campus Field, later capping the 2023 home finale with the game-winning goal in the 84th minute.
The Indiana, Pa. native has accounted for nine of IUP's 24 total goals this season, posting 20 points heading into the final week of the regular season in 2023. A two-time All-PSAC West First Team selection, Scardina has three game-winning goals in 2023 and ranks fourth in the PSAC in goals/game (.56).
Scardina boasts 28 career goals and 66 career points (28 G, 10 A) in her IUP career, breaking into the top 10 in program history in goals and just outside the top 10 in career points.
IUP finishes out the regular season with road games this week at California (Pa.) (October 31) and Gannon (November 3).
