LEWISBURG, Pa. – The IUP track & field teams began the season with nine top-five finishes in a well-rounded effort at the Bison Invitational on Saturday, hosted by Bucknell.
The Hawks sent a small group to open the indoor season, posting six total Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying marks.
Renee Simmonds opened the season for IUP on Friday in the women's pentathlon, notching first in the shot put (11.36m) and fifth in the 60m hurdles (9.98). The rest of the team finished out action at Bucknell on Saturday.
SahBri Hill impressed in his collegiate debut, logging second in the triple jump with a second-place NCAA Provisional mark of 14.46m. For the Crimson Hawk women,
Bryna Kelly and
Hedda Folkhage posted PSAC qualifying times in the 60m hurdle prelims, each qualifying for the finals and posting fourth and fifth in the event, respectively.
Cassidy Kline notched eighth in the 400m (1:00.92) with
Bella Brozeski logging 15th in the event (1:02.91). On the men's side,
Kendall Branan posted a second-place PSAC mark in the 400m (50.00) with
Justin Egizio nabbing fifth (50.95).
Owen Putt and
Trenton Jubin joined Egizio and Branan for third in the 4x400 relay to finish out the meet.
