INDIANA, Pa. -- The 2023 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship are scheduled for Feb. 25-26 at the Gerhard Fieldhouse on the campus of Bucknell University, and IUP hopes to continue what has been a strong season to this point.
The Crimson Hawks have continued to push the program forward during the indoor campaign, building from a successful 2022 outdoor season that saw a big jump in development. Add in a large recruiting class for both teams, and IUP seems poised to rise up the team standings across the board.
Updates will be available on social media throughout the championships, while recaps will be posted online at IUPAthletics.com following each day of competition.

IUP NOTES
- Kendall Branan is a two-time PSAC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for IUP and looks to defend his 800m title at this year's event. Branan cruised to a time of 1:52.59, setting the PSAC championship meet and Mike Zafirovski Dome facility records in the process last year.
- This season, Brannan enters the conference championships second in the conference and region in the 800m (1:50.22). Shippensburg's Drew Bailey posted a 1:49.49 earlier in the season, marking one of the most exciting races at the conference championship meet.
- IUP has gained more consistency from some of its upperclassmen returners during the indoor season. Cassidy Kline and Cahsia Page are both All-PSAC performers in outdoor track and are among the anchors of the women's lineup this weekend.
- Among the most stacked events of the weekend is the women's shot put as Hailey Dodson returns following All-PSAC honors during the outdoor season. Dodson has posted top-five finishes in three of four indoor events this season, marking a season-best 12.90m at the YSU Mid-Major Invitational.
- Dodson finished behind two eventual All-American throwers in the PSAC Outdoor Championships last spring. East Stroudsburg's Elizabeth Makar returns as a favorite in the event again this indoor season as Dodson looks to challenge for one of the top spots in the league and region.
- IUP boasts some key experience on the men's side across different events with Evan Weaver, Noah Shannon-Hatchett and Jayden Thomas. Weaver is set to race in the one mile, while Shannon-Hatchett continues to develop into a leader among the sprinting group. Thomas is an all-conference performer in the high jump, coming off a third-place finish in his last outing at the 2023 Liberty Open.
- The Hawks will also look to the team's young nucleus over the weekend. Chief among the first-year talent is Brynna Kelly, who has qualified for multiple events at the conference championships.
- Kelly is the top-seeded freshman in the 60-meter hurdles heading into the conference championships (9.36).
