SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – IUP track & field competed in a talented field as part of one of the largest meets of the season, wrapping up action through windy conditions as Slippery Rock's Dave Labor Invitational on Saturday.
Kendall Branan opened the outdoor season with a first-place PSAC qualifying mark in the 400m, winning the race in 47.92. It was the outdoor debut for Branan, who earned All-American honors following the indoor national championships in late March. Branan's mark was one of five total PSAC qualifying standards across the IUP track & field team on Saturday.
Trenton Jubin added a PSAC mark in the 200m (22.22), finishing third overall, while helping the 4x100 relay group to third as well. Jubin joined
Justin Egizio,
Lawrence Anderson and
Noah Shannon-Hatchett in the 4x100 for a cumulative time of 42.53.
For the IUP women,
Sarah Isenberg notched a PSAC mark with her third-place bound of 1.55m in the long jump.
Brynna Kelly added a strong showing in the 100m hurdles with a qualifying mark of 15.77, finishing fifth overall.
Dan Gibney notched first in the 3000m steeple for IUP in 9:50.53 with
Adam Lechleitner finished second in the event in 10:17.81.
