IUP women’s tennis tabbed second in Atlantic Region rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – IUP women's tennis was listed second in the Atlantic Region rankings, unveiled by the Division II Women's tennis Committee this week.

The NCAA regional rankings list the teams in position for a potential bid for the NCAA Tournament, with the Atlantic Region consisting of the PSAC, MEC and CIAA, along with independents.

IUP slotted second in the regional rankings with a 7-2 in-region record at the time of release. The Crimson Hawks, who have played a difficult nonconference schedule, were just one spot behind Charleston (W.Va.).

Slippery Rock follows in third, followed by West Liberty and West Virginia State to round out the top five.

IUP is set for consecutive matches within the region this weekend, hosting Cal U on April 14 before a big regional showdown against West Liberty on April 16 at Maple Street Courts.
