LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - IUP first-year student Alex Swinnerton was yet again chosen as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Men's Golf Athlete of the Week, announced by the league Wednesday afternoon.
Swinnerton earned his first collegiate tournament victory this weekend at the two-round Dr. Edwin B Cottrell Invitational hosted by West Chester University at the par-71 Penn Oaks Golf Club.
The freshman picked up medalist honors with a combined score of 138. Swinnerton carded rounds of 70 (-1) and 68 (-3) for a combined tournament score of four-under par, making for his fourth career top-five finish.
This is the third week Swinnerton has been selected for athlete of the week honors by the league, previously being honored March 22 and March 29.

Swinnerton and the Crimson Hawks head to the Bill Blazer Memorial Invitational on April 7-8. The tournament will be hosted by Ohio Dominican University at the Urbana Country Club.
