Salazar ties for first at 2025 PSAC Men’s Golf Championships

LEBANON, Pa. – Guillermo Salazar posted a two-over 74 and tied for the individual lead at the 2025 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men's Golf Championships. Pitt-Johnstown's Eli Ropietski ultimately won individual medalist honors following a six-hole playoff and the league's tiebreaker procedure.

IUP closed the 54-hole tournament fourth in the team standings at Iron Valley Golf Club. West Chester won the team championship with a three-round total of 891 (+27), holding off Pitt-Johnstown (895; +31)

The playoff between Salazar and Ropietski was still tied after playing the 18th hole six times, and play could not continue due to darkness. The next tiebreaker was the score from the final round, which secured medalist honors for Ropietski after his one-under 71 (compared to Salazar's two-over 74).

Salazar previously won medalist honors at the conference championship in 2022. He recorded rounds of 72, 73 and 74 over the weekend.

Alex Swinnerton jumped five spots on Sunday to a tie for fifth place following an even-par 73. Swinnerton led the field in par-five scoring and had just two bogeys on Sunday for his 16th collegiate top-five finish.

Trevor Todd's final round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-five 16th hole. He finished with a 76 (+4) and closed the event in 21st place.

Zaiden Dennis (T31st) and Ben De Castro (38th) rounded out IUP's scoring lineup.

IUP led the tournament field in par-five scoring, going a combined -20 across the tournament.
