INDIANA, Pa. – IUP track & field hosted its lone meet of the 2023 season, celebrating senior day while posting some impressive times and marks during the Ed Fry Invitational on Saturday at Miller Stadium.
Perhaps the most impressive win of the day came in the final event of the track portion of the meet as the 4x400 meter relay group of
Owen Putt,
Trenton Jubin,
Justin Egizio and
Kendall Branan zoomed to a first-place time of 3:18.40. It was one of five total first-place finishes throughout the meet for IUP.
Brannan added an NCAA DII Provisional time in the 400m, finishing second overall in 47.81. The time is tied for the 16th fastest in DII at the time of release and second fastest in the Atlantic Region behind Alderson-Broaddus sophomore Shelton Bass (47.74).
Brynna Kelly raced to first in the 100m hurdles with a PSAC standard mark of 15.38, while
Cassidy Kline added first in the 400m hurdles with a PSAC qualifying time of 1:04.03.
In the field,
Jayden Thomas notched second with a PSAC mark in the long jump (1.88m) and
Renee Simmonds added second in the women's shot put (11.05m).
Sarah Isenberg recorded a PSAC qualifying mark with a second-place mark of 1.60 in the high jump, with
Jenna Wilt adding second in the pole vault (2.90m).
The Crimson Hawks men's distance runners were consistently strong across the board, including five PSAC qualifying marks in the 10,000m.
Joel Beckwith,
Lucas Pajak,
Ethan Ribelin, Sam Moffat and
Andrew Moyer claimed the top five spots in the race, all under 33:24 overall.
Additionally,
Parker Bradley claimed first place in the 5,000m (17:05.33) for IUP.
