SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – IUP rounded out day two of the 2023 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Outdoor Championships, placing 11 total student-athletes into tomorrow's final at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
Dan Gibney earned All-PSAC recognition in the 3000m steeplechase, finishing second overall in the race with a 9:35.00.
Adam Lechleitner followed in fifth, while
Evan Weaver also scored for the Crimson Hawks in seventh.
Sarah Isenberg and
Dejuanna Gile provided IUP with its first points of the weekend, both scoring in the women's high jump for the Crimson Hawks.
IUP was outstanding in the men's 400m first round on Friday, qualifying three student-athletes for the finals on Saturday, all within the top five overall.
Kendall Branan won the event with an NCAA Provisional mark of 47.25, while
Owen Putt followed in second in the heat and third overall (48.38).
Justin Egizio notched fifth overall with his qualifying time of 48.89.
Both IUP 4x100 relay teams qualified for the finals tomorrow, with the women's squad recording seventh in the event.
Cassidy Kline was part of the women's 4x100 team, later qualifying for the 400m hurdles in 1:05.45.
