JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The IUP men's golf program improved three spots in the team standings on the final day of a rain-soaked Sunnehanna Collegiate, hosted by Pitt-Johnstown this week. 
 
IUP finished in a tie for fourth in the team standings (598), matching West Chester. The Crimson Hawks shook off a sluggish opening round and saw a return to form as a group on Tuesday, posting a 287 and improving 12 shots from an opening-round 298. 
 
Gannon (564), Millersville (574) and Ohio Dominican (582) claimed the top three spots in the team standings at the inaugural event hosted by Pitt-Johnstown. The Golden Knights had the top two individual finishers with under par scores for both Mattia Parrini (-2) and Rasmus Seppanen (-1). 
 
John Olsen paced the IUP lineup in a tie for seventh overall following the 36-hole event, posting rounds of 72 (+2) and 71 (+1). Olsen's second round included three birdies and an even back nine that consisted of a stretch of six consecutive pars. 
 
Guillermo Salazar added another top 10 finish, the 14th in his collegiate career, with rounds of 74 and an even-par 70 on Tuesday. Salazar was able to refocus throughout the second round on Tuesday, with four birdies and four bogeys each. He closed holes 14-18 with four straight pars, including one on the lengthy 604-yard par-five 15th hole. 
 
Alex Swinnerton climbed one spot individually to a tie for 16th behind a two-over 72. Swinnerton opened the round with six straight pars and played the back nine at even par. Swinnerton was consistent on the front nine outside a tough-luck double bogey on the par-three seventh. 
 
Ben De Castro (T53rd) improved his score by five shots round over round, posting a 74 over the final 18 holes on Tuesday. Trevor Todd landed tied for 60th, with Evan Lewis (T66th) and Jon Vinge (T82nd) closing out the Crimson Hawk lineup in Johnstown.
