BEDFORD, Pa. – Jon Vinge led the way for IUP men's golf with a one-over 73 after the opening round of the Bedford Springs Intercollegiate, hosted by Pitt-Johnstown. As a team, IUP is 10th overall with a combined mark of 306.
West Liberty is one of three schools from the Mountain East Conference (MEC) atop the team leaderboard. The Hilltoppers posted a combined seven-over mark of 295, led by 18-hole leader Adam Gill.
Gill and Glenville State's Hector Arriaga are first individually with rounds of 70 (-2).
Vinge's 73 is his lowest round of the 2025-26 season. He played the back nine at even par and recorded three birdies on the day.
Vinge was one of just six players in the field to play par four holes under par.
Zaiden Dennis carded a two-over 74 as an individual, his lowest round since October 2025.
Guillermo Salazar recorded a 74 of his own, slotting in a tie for 13th overall.
Ben De Castro (individual) was next among IUP golfers with a five-over 77.
Alex Swinnerton (T59th),
John Olsen (T64th), and
Cameron GeRue (T86th; individual) and
Trevor Todd (T86th) rounded out the Crimson Hawk lineup.
