INDIANA, Pa. – West Chester claimed the 2026 Cecil C. Spadafora IUP Invitational by one shot against the host Crimson Hawks as action concluded Wednesday at Indiana Country Club.
Guillermo Salazar finished among the top five as IUP finished out its lone home event of the season.
WCU claimed the team title with a two-round total of 588, including a 292 on Wednesday. IUP finished with rounds of 293 and 296 for a third second-place finish this season.
Salazar posted rounds of 71 and 76. He posted two birdies on the back nine, including a birdie on 18 to put some pressure on the Golden Rams on the final hole.
Eli Ropietski (Pitt-Johnstown) earned individual medalist honors with an even-par total of 142 (70, 72).
Alex Swinnerton and
John Olsen finished tied for ninth with two-round totals of 148. Olsen posted a one-over round of 72 on Wednesday, jumping 19 spots round over round.
Trevor Todd (T13th) rose seven spots on Wednesday, posting 13 pars during his final round.
Jon Vinge (T28th) carded identical rounds of 76, followed by
Ben De Castro (T36th),
Zaiden Dennis (T40th; individual) and
Cameron GeRue (59th; individual).
IUP and West Chester led the field in par-three scoring average (3.30).
