ERIE, Pa. – The IUP swimming and diving team came up short in their meet against Gannon, despite a strong performance that included 38 PSAC standard times and three record-breaking swims.
Kasha Stokes had an exceptional day, setting new pool records at Gannon in both the 100 and 200 backstroke with times of 57.09 and 2:04.16. Stokes swam in the 200 medley that placed first with a time of 1:47.33, joined by her were
Tina Cudina,
Katie Crosscut, and
Summer Esson which also broke a pool record.
In individual events,
Kyla Kramer took first place in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:29.72, while Avital Flashman won the 500 freestyle in 5:22.01.
Katie Crosscut also claimed first in the 100 butterfly, finishing in 58.65.
IUP placed first in both the men's and women's 50 freestyle with Cudina (24.44) and
Stephen Goff (21.10).
On the men's side, Ty Uhlig delivered two first-place finishes, winning the 1000 freestyle in 9:47.04 and the 200 backstroke in 1:54.14.
Luke Mikesell finished second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:43.82 but earned a victory in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:41.99.
