The IUP softball program opens play in the 2024 PSAC Tournament on Wednesday with a matchup against Shippensburg at Veterans Park. IUP played a loaded final week of the regular season, clinching the fifth and final spot in the PSAC West after a 1-0 shutout of Seton Hill on Saturday.
IUP has been an offensive powerhouse this season, ranking 12th nationally in hits (493), 14th in scoring (7.15), 12th in runs scored (372) and eighth in walks (196). Individually,
Madison Pikula is ninth in NCAA DII with an IUP single season record 80 hits this season.
Kendall Young (14-9, 2.95 ERA, 14 CG, 103 K) enters the postseason on a high note, named the PSAC West Pitcher of the Week on April 29.

IUP women's lacrosse faces a pair of must-win games to finish out the regular season. Entering the week two games out of a playoff spot, the Crimson Hawks take on PSAC West regular season champion Seton Hill before hosting Lock Haven over the weekend.
The Hawks could not overcome some early cards in a 14-5 road loss at Slippery Rock on Saturday.
Chantal Jimenez is fourth in the PSAC in draw controls/game (4.00), just eight shy of matching the IUP program record for career draw controls.
Kathryn Burke ranks seventh in the PSAC with 29 assists, posting 127 points in just 50 career games. IUP head coach
Brenna Gallagher Roan (49-35) is one win shy of 50 at the helm of the Crimson Hawks.

The playoff-bound IUP baseball program wraps up the regular season with a four-game slate against Mercyhurst. The Crimson Hawks had won nine straight before falling in doubleheader action over the weekend at Pitt-Johnstown. Despite the sluggish offensive outings, the Crimson Hawks secured a PSAC Tournament berth for the second consecutive season under head coach
Steve Kline. It's just the second time since 2020-11 that IUP has made consecutive conference tournaments.
Au'sean Owens and
Peyton Johnson each collected the 100th hit of their career recently, while
Harrison Pontoli enters the week with 198 career hits (7th in program history) and 134 RBI (4th in program history).
Mark Edeburn is 0.2 innings shy from becoming the school's all-time leader in innings pitched, anchoring a strong starting rotation for IUP.

The IUP outdoor track & field teams returns to Shippensburg' Seth Grover Stadium for the 2024 PSAC Outdoor Championships, held May 3-5. The Crimson Hawks have been collecting conference qualifying times throughout the season, most recently at the Pauk Kaiser Classic.
The top three individual finishers in each event will earn All-PSAC honors. Full performance lists and information will be released later in the week.

IUP Stats
The IUP women's tennis team begins the quest for a fourth consecutive PSAC Championship this week. Winners of the PSAC West regular season crown, the top-seeded Crimson Hawks await the winner of Bloomsburg/West Chester on Friday, May 3.
IUP was listed second in the latest NCAA DII Atlantic Region rankings, released on April 25. The Crimson hawks boast five regional titles since 2017 and have made 11 NCAA National Championship (Round of 16) appearances in the last 13 seasons.
