LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – In the final release of weekly baseball awards from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) for the 2024 season, IUP's Mark Edeburn was named the West Division Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
 
Edeburn delivered another complete game effort on the mound last week for IUP, helping the Crimson Hawks to a 3-1 victory at Mercyhurst on May 2. The McMurray, Pa. native became the program's all-time leader in career innings pitched in the start, surpassing Anthony Zambotti (228.2) for the milestone.
 
He allowed just one hit and one run in the victory against the Lakers, striking out four. It marks the second weekly pitching honor for Edeburn this season. He boasts a 6-1 record in 2024 with a 3.31 ERA and 44 strikeouts.

He's fourth nationally with five complete games in 2024, ranking 12th in the PSAC in ERA, ninth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (4.00), ninth in WHIP (1.13) and third in walks allowed per nine innings (1.52). 
 
Edeburn is continuing to climb up the program record books as one of the best pitchers in school history, ranking fifth in wins (18), seventh in strikeouts (182), tied for seventh in appearances (46) and tied for fourth in complete games (17).
 
IUP begins action in the 2024 PSAC Baseball Tournament on Wednesday, May 8 at 9:30 a.m. against Millersville. A full tournament preview is forthcoming to IUPathletics.com.
