IUP swimming programs named CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams

RICHMOND, Va. – The IUP men's and women's swimming teams were among the 722 programs named Scholar All-America Teams by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

These teams, representing a total of 17,162 student-athletes, were chosen based on their outstanding academic performance during the specified semester. To qualify for this prestigious recognition, teams had to earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 during the Spring 2024 semester.

Head coach Chris Villa's teams continually excel academically and athletically. This spring, the IUP women posted a 3.32 cumulative GPA for the spring semester with six student-athletes earning a 4.0. On the men's side, IUP recorded a 3.25 team GPA with four perfect 4.0 averages across the squad.

Both the men's and women's squads were named Scholar All-America teams at the conclusion of the fall semester. The Crimson Hawks had six total College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selections in April.

Luke Mikesell was named to the PSAC Winter Top 10 and earned CSC Academic All-America® Second Team honors in late April.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
