PLYMOUTH, Mich. – IUP men's golf junior duo Alex Swinnerton and Guillermo Salazar are tied for the individual lead following 36 holes at Hillsdale's Get To Foundation Invitational, while the team is third overall after Monday's action at the Saint Johns Golf Resort. 
 
Swinnerton and Salazar are one under after 36 holes, building off a strong opening tournament just one week earlier. 
 
The IUP duo is part of a five-way tie for first overall, the only five in the field with a score under par after 36 holes. In the team standings, the Crimson Hawks (591; +15) slot behind Findlay (584; +8) and host Hillsdale (586; +10). 
 
Salazar was steady throughout the day, while Swinnerton had a roller coaster back nine in the second round. Swinnerton eagled the par five 11th, following it up with birdies on holes 12, 15 and 16 after beginning the round on the 10th hole. He shook off a double bogey on 17 and bogey on consecutive holes, playing back nine at even par. 
 
The par four 17th hole proved to be a challenge for the Hawks in the second round. Ben De Castro slotted 29th overall for IUP with Cameron Gerue notching 31st place through 36 holes.
 
Evan Lewis, a highly accomplished transfer from Davis & Elkins, made his IUP debut on Monday as an individual. He finished his day in 41st overall behind rounds of 82 and 75 (+3). 
 
Jon Vinge posted identical rounds of 82 to close out the Crimson Hawk lineup.
