MONROE, N.C. — IUP men's golf junior Alex Swinnerton led the way for the Crimson Hawks in the final round of Wingate's Ralph Hargett Intercollegiate with an even-par 72 at Rolling Hills Country Club.
 
Swinnerton finished tied for fourth overall, alongside Nicolas Normand (South Carolina Beaufort). Manuel Crue (Grand Valley State) won the tournament by two shots, logging a 54-hole total of seven under.
 
Host Wingate won the tournament with consecutive team rounds of 279, holding off South Carolina Beaufort by three shots. IUP slipped to 11th place in the team standings despite seeing some improvements across nearly all facets of the lineup.
 
Swinnerton has been a consistent contributor across the IUP lineup since his freshman season in 2022-23. Tuesday's top-five individual finish is the 12th of his collegiate career and fourth during the 2024-25 season. He's posted four finishes inside the top five each during the 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons.
 
Swinnerton's final round featured three birdies and 11 pars. He recorded 37 pars across the 54-hole tournament, tied for fourth among all players in the field.
 
John Olsen tied for 43rd, recording a final round 74 that included consecutive birdies on holes six and seven. Competing as an individual, Evan Lewis jumped nine spots on the leaderboard with a one over 73 on Tuesday. The other individuals in the IUP lineup — Jon Vinge and Trevor Todd — followed with combined scores of 229 and 230.
 
Guillermo Salazar regrouped for an even-par round of 72 on Tuesday, jumping six spots on the individual leaderboard with a tie for 79th. Ben De Castro carded an 82 and also tied for 79th place.
 
Cameron Gerue improved his positioning two places on Tuesday's final round.
 
IUP finished fourth in the field as a team with 165 pars across its scoring lineup of Swinnerton, Olsen, Salazar, De Castro and Gerue.
