LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- IUP senior Dani Ramos was named the PSAC West Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week, announced Monday afternoon.
This past week, IUP defeated Lock Haven (7-0) and two nationally ranked opponents. They won their fifth consecutive 7-0 sweep against Goldey-Beacom and defeated No. 18 Wilmington (Del.) (5-2), both at the Delcastle Tennis Center. IUP is currently on a seven match winning streak.
Ramos posted three No. 1 doubles and three No. 3 singles victories.
Her and doubles partner Ming Deewajee swept Lock Haven with a score 6-0. Ramos won her singles match with set scores of 6-0, 6-0.
Against Goldey-Beacom, Ramos and Deewajee battled for a 7-5 victory and she won in singles action with set scores of 6-1, 6-4.
In Sunday's match against the nationally ranked Wildcats, No. 1 doubles won with a 6-2 score. Ramos earned a convincing win in singles with scores of 6-2, 6-1.
