GENEVA, Ohio — Indiana University of Pennsylvania opened a new era in its track and field program Saturday, competing under first-year head coach Patrick Gildea at the Spire Midwest Collegiate Open.
Nataiah Robertson recorded a third-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.45 meters, qualifying for the PSAC Championships.
IUP swept the top three spots in the tier triple jump, led by Matthew Cusatis, who won the event with a jump of 14.34 meters. Evan Loro placed second at 13.62 meters, while Marcus Toto finished third with a mark of 13.18 meters.
On the track, Steve Combary and Zach Debose placed among the top five in the men's 60-meter hurdles, while freshman Kayla Quinones finished sixth in the women's 60-meter hurdles. Bryna Kelly, typically a 60-meter hurdler, placed in the top eight of the women's 60-meter dash with a time of 8.12 seconds. Zaya McCune added a top-10 finish in the women's 3,000-meter run, positioning herself for a potential PSAC qualifying mark.
The Crimson Hawks return to action Jan. 30-31 at Bucknell.
