LEWISBURG, Pa. – The IUP track and field team turned in a strong performance at the Bison Challenge and Multi, hosted by Bucknell University, highlighted by a school record and multiple personal bests.
Senior Steve Combary set a new IUP record in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking an 8.40 to break the previous mark.
Bryna Kelly made her return to the hurdles for the first time since December and delivered one of the top performances in program history. Kelly finished second in the final with a time of 8.89, ranking No. 2 all-time at IUP. Kayla-Rayne Quinones also etched her name into the record books, posting the fifth-fastest time in school history during the 60-meter hurdle preliminaries with a 9.06.
Sophomore Camryn Roche earned the first PSAC qualifying mark under head coach Patrick Gildea, recording a personal best in the 5,000 meters. Competing in the event on the track for the first time, Roche crossed the line in 18:51.76.
Sterlene Scott added another personal record for the Crimson Hawks, running a 26.11 in the women's 200 meters to place fourth.
IUP will continue competition Saturday morning in Lewisburg, with events scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
