SELLINSGROVE, Pa. — The Indiana University of Pennsylvania track and field teams spent Valentine's Day competing at Susquehanna University, delivering several solid distance and field performances highlighted by a qualifying mark for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference indoor championships.
Sophomore Nate Kociela led the Crimson Hawks with a runner-up finish in the men's 5,000 meters, posting a season-best 15:30.30 to strengthen his standing in the PSAC qualifying picture. Teammate Nathan Mienke also contributed a strong effort, finishing sixth in the same event.
In the women's triple jump, Jahnaya Trotter-Wimberly placed seventh, while Isabella Rodriguez finished eighth and recorded a lifetime personal-best mark of 10.25 meters.
The Crimson Hawks return to action Friday when they travel to compete at an invitational hosted by Penn State.
